The 4th meeting of the Discussion Club

On May 15, 2025, the 4th meeting of the Discussion Club was held, with the meeting topic: "Herbicide protection of potatoes". The meeting was held in a mixed format: at the Potato Institute and online.

During the meeting, welcoming remarks were made by: Executive Director of the UAPP - Olga Samoilichenko and Director of the AGRIСO Ukraine - Mykola Gordiychuk.

TThe speakers of the meeting spoke about the main types of weeds in the potato fields of Ukraine, showed schemes of herbicide protection of potatoes, the most common weeds in potato fields, methods and experience of combating them. Representatives of the most powerful potato farms of Lviv, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions presented information on the topic of the event. In addition, current information was received on the status of establishing experiments in potato fields, in particular, in the farm of Zhytomyr region - FG Adelaida. The meeting was also joined by Jaap de Zeeuw, a professional seed potato producer from the Netherlands, who familiarized all participants of the event with the Dutch experience of combating weeds.
Representatives of companies producing chemical protection products also took part in the discussion on the topic of the meeting. During the meeting, a presentation of the Herbicide Protection Scheme for testing in the participating farms of the Potato Day Ukraine project on the fields of the Continental Farmers Group (Lviv region) was also held.
